A Little About
Myself.
Hi! I'm Mrs. Gibson, but people also call me Gibby.
The first thing I get asked is "where are you from?" Well, I spent most of my childhood in a suburb of Dallas, Texas. However, I am originally from Fairview, an extremely small town in Michigan's Northern Lower Peninsula, and graduated from FHS in 2001.
After high school, I earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Social Science from Kirtland Community College in 2003. In 2006, I graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. of Political Science, and again in 2008 with a Secondary Education Certification in the area of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and Political Science. In the spring of 2012, I completed a Master's in Educational Technology through MSU (a Spartan 3 times over!). Go Green!
During my college years, I spent a couple summers working on Mackinac Island and absolutely fell in love with the Mackinac Straits area. My husband and I were fortunate enough to both get careers in the St. Ignace area and I have been teaching at LaSalle High School since 2008. My students make my job worthwhile and I can't imagine being anywhere else!
When I'm not teaching, I love to travel (France is my favorite place!). I also like to go fishing, kayaking, work as a history tour guide, go to museums, and I'm a bit of a book worm. :)
Of course, this year has been a bit limited, but I am looking forward to the school year. If you want to contact me, you will find my information here.
